Quote from Cr!t!calDrift :

Oh yeah, and I tried to practice lucid dreaming once. Here is how I tried to do it:

1. Tried to go to sleep, but I knew that I was going to sleep. However I knew I was falling into the deep, and I started zooming out and my fingers went numb and I lost movement in my arms. My heartbeat got louder, but I didn't want to go all the way so I kicked my toe, and after a few seconds of numbness, I managed to start moving again...

2. I fell asleep while listening to music, and I remembered the song in my dream, so I started 5 seconds in a lucid dream, before I started thinking about real life, and when I did that, I ended up waking up.

Fascinating. If I could get into lucid dreaming, I would be asleep much more often

classic lucid dreams rock ive never had one despite my best efforts although my entire family have lucid dreams, ive yet to experience one, but then again im the only one that talks in my sleep its annoying waking up in the morning and people asking what you was talking about in the night, i always reply "how the F**k should i know i was ASLEEP"

the worst dream i ever had without a shadow of a doubt, was a zombie dream and befor you laugh, i'll tell you about it! ok it started with me in my old secondary school or high school (for you americans). i dont why it was there but it was! anyway im walking through the corridor and this zombie comes at me so i shoot it and kill it at some point i make my way out of the school and break into an empty house with a car in the drive to find the car keys and drive away to find a safe place to stay, whilst searchin the house i turn around and see a little girl also a zombie (this is where i woke up sh!tt!ing myself not only cos it was scary but because of what happend next) she looked fine but the eyes where those of a zombie i let her get real close as to not waste my last bullet, i put my gun to her head and at the exact same time as i pull the trigger and blow her brains out she shouts "wait", the girl couldnt have been older than 6 or 7 years old in my dream.

now id say that would scare anyone

lmfao two weeks and your at your peak? damn you must be SH!T ive been on lfs for roughly a year now, and im still improving and learning my way round tracks with different cars i used to race with the keyboard and the mouse but really didnt start improving much untill i bought a wheel, it isnt the greatest wheel or the most expensive but it does the job. as everyone on this thread has stated your not at your limit! and even the longest members are still improving. the way i learnt was by spectating watch the fast racers for a few races take note of where they break turn in and acellerate, and then put it into practice when your comfortable with the race line and are confident enough to push the the boundries of the racing line then move on to trying different set ups, theres 2 things to look for in a setup the most obvious is how it helps your lap times but you also need to be comfortable with it take note that not all set ups will suit your style!

ive been blue flaged more than a few times, i do either one of the following
-let of the gas slowing down just enough for the to safely pass me on the straights

or take the outside line of a turn allowing the person behind to pass me on the inside.

im not the perfect racer and i dont pretend to be, but i always do my best to race fair and clean. im not saying that you should all do the same as me when being blue flagged, just stating my own traits

it really doesnt matter if LFS had real content or not the cars are already like some from the real world as it is, and one car actually is (BF1). i think everyone here would still continue racing either way. one thing i do think would be pretty cool to see in S3 would be a truck cab obviously for truck racing but thats a whole different forum segment!

Quote from STROBE : It often tends to attract newer/younger drivers too, who have limited car control and who you might not want racing in a pack with you anyway.

just as i said earlier maybe they are on those servers to improve their skills befor jumping onto a server full of pro racers

fact is the city driving server rules arnt really followed many people go on there just to be chased by the "resident police", and as for stealing people thats an insane statement, to make when you concider the fact that there are so many people on lfs, not all of them want to race constantly or maybe they just arnt good enough to race yet, and use the city driving servers as a means to learn the tracks and perfect a racing line. ifit bothers you so much that there isnt anybody to race you goto the demo servers you'll find pleanty of people

its all good if you can afford this three moniter set up. just like these kids on lfs that brag about having a G25 its fine if you can afford one, although personally i see no point in shelling out 200 quid for a steering wheel and god only know how much for a three moniter display. i suppose you'd have to be a harcore gamer to have such a thing or just have nothing better to spend your money on. to be honest you dont need either to get the best out LFS or to be competitive, its just a waste of money. but each to their own

most drivers just dont have the patience to wait for a suitable place to pass you, granted sometimes they do pick their spot to overtake and sometimes get it wrong. the majority though will do whatever it takes to get infront. i was racing yesterday on fernbay in second place last turn of the last lap, fighting for position with the guy behind. i would have had him beat (as there was no way he was passing me on the start finish straight) breaking for the corner just as i turn in he slams into me, spinning me of into the sand trap and he picks up second place and the license points to go with it. drivers like this really get on my nerves they havnt the skills to beat you cleanly so they race dirty, footing kunts

it was me who configured the server for him a few days after i set up my own, i dont know alot about it to be perfectly honest, i didnt think about port forwarding when he asked me why it wasnt running, as my server works fine and didnt need to forward anyports, surely tho with his firewall off it he wouldnt need to forward them?

Quote from Highsider9 :... and you die wich means you can't play anymore.

Well, sounds like a good Idea.

doesnt have to mean you cant play anymore could be like a ban either untill the next race or for a few hours

i kinda like the idea of that would be a great way of stopping crashers

i think brake wear is a fantastic idea, also brake temprature and warping/cracking should be considered too this would make longer races in the road cars for LFS pit manditory in order to cool the brakes down. some may think this idea is pointless or will ruin game experience but lets not forget LFS is a race simulator, brake ware temp and cracking due to brake overheating would make LFS more realistic!

Quote from hajrudin :No one can tell you when to press the throttle or when and how hard to steer. It depends on the configuration of the track and generally the position of your car. Keiichi is the Drift King. Believe me, there's no one who could teach you the basics better than him. He practically invented the drift. When you learn the theory, you start the practice by your self. After a while, it will unvail itself to you. Believe me.

yeah what he said^^

Quote from Bob Smith :The first thread like this was pretty pointless, given that all these stats can be found on LFS World. Further threads are therefore a waste of space.

Edit: thread merged with original and reopened.
